Wat is 2BS-certificering?
Demonstrate proof of compliance with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) for your sustainable biofuels, biogas, and biomethane as well as the certification of biomass used in the energy, human food and animal feed industries with 2BS audits and certification from SCS Global Services Europe B.V. 2BS certification enables regulatory compliant sustainability claims that cover all sustainable raw materials, such as agricultural biomass, wastes and residues, renewable materials and energy types processed from certified biomass.
Bovendien erkent de Europese Commissie vanaf januari 2025 de verwerkingsprocedures van de 2BS-certificering, waardoor bedrijven hernieuwbare materialen kunnen combineren met traditionele fossiele materialen in een proces dat voldoet aan de RED II-richtlijnen.
2BS heeft twee verschillende duurzaamheidscertificatieschema's, één voor biobrandstoffen en vloeibare biomassa (2BSvs) en één voor voeding en diervoeder (2BSXtra). Het 2BSvs biobrandstofprogramma heeft betrekking op biomassa uit de landbouw, afval en residuen, materialen en hernieuwbare energiebronnen en bestrijkt het hele proces van de productie van biomassa tot het verzamelen van inputs en tot de verwerking en productie van biobrandstoffen, vloeibare biomassa en brandstoffen uit biomassa.
De 2BSXtra-regeling is een certificering voor duurzame verwerkte landbouwgrondstoffen die worden gebruikt voor menselijke en dierlijke voeding en waarvan de producenten gebruik willen maken van grondstoffen met een lagere koolstofuitstoot. 2BSXtra is gebaseerd op de vereisten van het 2BSvs-certificeringssysteem en stelt eerste inzamelaars en verwerkingseenheden in staat om de duurzaamheid en traceerbaarheid van hun toeleveringsketen aan te tonen, ter ondersteuning van exploitanten bij de overgang naar een circulaire economie met lage koolstofemissies.
